Senior Java Engineer
CLOUDFIDE SPÓŁKA Z OGRANICZONĄ ODPOWIEDZIALNOŚCIĄGlobalnie
Why Join Us
At Cloudfide, we engineer solutions where data truly becomes an accelerator for innovation. We build and evolve large-scale Big Data and cloud-native platforms for global clients, including the Fortune 500. We process massive, complex datasets, operate fully in the cloud ecosystem, and work with the latest technologies, including AI, ML, MLOps, and modern data architectures.
Our projects have measurable, real‑world impact - from enhancing customer experiences at scale to empowering data-driven decision-making in high‑visibility global organizations. As we continue to grow, you'll have the opportunity to shape solutions, mentor others, drive architecture decisions, and take ownership of strategic initiatives.
Opportunity Overview
As a Senior Java Engineer at Cloudfide, you will work on an enterprise-scale platform for a Fortune 500 client - a governed data access management system built on Azure Databricks and Unity Catalog. The platform handles provisioning and lifecycle management of data infrastructure objects at scale, serving as a critical layer between the business and its Data Lake.
This is a role for an engineer who thinks before coding. You'll be working on a system where precision matters - changes are surgical, conventions are respected, and simplicity is a feature, not an afterthought. You'll collaborate closely with the client's technical stakeholders and contribute to a product that directly shapes how a large enterprise governs and accesses its data assets.
Expect a collaborative, AI-forward environment where thinking outside the box is encouraged and your proactivity is genuinely valued. You'll join a team of passionate engineers who value technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous growth.
Your Responsibilities
Designing and building robust, production-grade Java APIs and backend services using Java 25 and Spring.
Implementing and maintaining workflow orchestration with Temporal.io for reliable, long-running process management.
Working with Azure services - App Service, Key Vault, Graph API, networking, and DevOps Pipelines - to deliver and operate cloud-native solutions.
Containerizing and managing services with Docker and Docker Compose.
Designing and working with MSSQL databases, ensuring data integrity and query efficiency.
Implementing secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2.
Writing meaningful, well-structured tests using Spock and Groovy.
Making deliberate, targeted code changes - respecting existing conventions and minimizing unintended side effects.
Communicating clearly with both technical peers and client stakeholders, contributing to shared understanding of goals and constraints.
Leveraging AI tools in day-to-day work to enhance productivity and output quality.
What We're Looking For
5+ years of commercial experience as a Java engineer with proven depth in backend system design.
Strong proficiency in Java (ideally up to date with recent versions) and Spring ecosystem.
Hands-on experience with Temporal.io or comparable workflow orchestration frameworks.
Solid Azure experience - App Service, Key Vault, Graph API, networking, and DevOps Pipelines.
Practical knowledge of Docker and Docker Compose for containerized development and deployment.
Strong SQL and MSSQL skills - comfortable with schema design, querying, and optimization.
Solid understanding of OAuth2 and modern authentication/authorization patterns.
Experience with Spock/Groovy for testing, or strong willingness to adopt it.
Simplicity-first mindset - you design for clarity, not cleverness, and your default is to do less, better.
Goal-driven execution - you understand the why behind tasks and make decisions that serve the outcome, not just the ticket.
Surgical approach to changes - you respect conventions, assess impact before acting, and avoid unnecessary scope creep.
Strong communication skills - able to engage with technical peers and non-technical stakeholders with equal clarity.
Fluent English, able to collaborate effectively across international teams.
Nice to Have
Familiarity with Databricks and Unity Catalog concepts.
Experience with Terraform or infrastructure-as-code practices.
Background in data governance, access management, or enterprise data platform engineering.
Experience working in large-scale, multi-tenant enterprise environments.
