Senior Java Developer

Addepto is a leading AI consulting and data engineering company that builds scalable, ROI-focused solutions for global enterprises. We are currently looking for a Senior Java Developer to join our team in modernizing a business-critical operational platform by transitioning it to a cloud-native architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services in Java and Spring Boot, managing the full lifecycle from domain model to API layers.
• Analyze legacy Java and Oracle PL/SQL code to re-implement business logic in new, well-tested services.
• Build and maintain the PostgreSQL data layer, including schema design, migrations, and performance tuning.
• Develop REST APIs and implement asynchronous, message-driven integrations using tools like Kafka or Azure Service Bus.
• Write comprehensive automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines to ensure production-ready code.

Requirements

• At least 5+ years of commercial experience as a Java backend developer with a focus on hands-on coding.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and the broader Spring ecosystem.
• Solid experience with relational databases, specifically PostgreSQL and Oracle, including PL/SQL.
• Proven ability to work with legacy codebases, refactoring and migrating logic safely.
• Working knowledge of Azure cloud services and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong testing discipline and experience with high-availability, business-critical systems.
