Senior Java Developer

Upvanta is seeking a Senior Java Developer to join our team and contribute to the development of highly scalable fintech systems that support trillions of dollars in transactions annually. You will work closely with our international product and engineering teams to design, build, and operate robust backend services for programmable payment, trading, and settlement platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop backend architecture for complex fintech products and platforms.
• Build, maintain, and operate high-performance Java and Spring Boot microservices in production.
• Develop scalable APIs and backend workflows with a focus on data consistency, fault tolerance, and reliability.
• Own features end-to-end, from initial implementation through deployment and ongoing production support.
• Collaborate with global teams to translate product requirements into robust, maintainable technical solutions.

Requirements

• 5 to 15 years of professional backend development experience.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Java and Spring Boot in production environments.
• Proven experience in banking, payments, trading, or financial transaction systems.
• Solid understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
• Experience operating systems in cloud environments such as AWS or Azure.
• Excellent English communication skills and a proactive, collaborative mindset.
