Senior Java Backend Engineer (Core Java, Trading Systems)

VISTULO is looking for experienced Senior Java Backend Engineers to join the capital markets division of a major North American bank. You will be part of a core product team building high-performance, low-latency trading systems that process millions of transactions daily.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust software solutions for trading systems using core Java.
• Develop and improve subsystems used across the trading platform.
• Create thorough test cases to ensure software stability and reliability.
• Collaborate with operations teams to build new features and improve functionality.
• Support production issues, including root-cause analysis and diagnosis.

Requirements

• Strong understanding of programming concepts, algorithms, and data structures.
• Deep knowledge of Java standard library internals.
• Experience building distributed service-based applications using message queues.
• Strong analytical skills for diagnosing performance issues in high-throughput systems.
• Ability to align working schedule with US Eastern business hours.
• Excellent English communication skills.
