Senior IT Monitoring Engineer (m/f/d)

FIEGE is a family-owned leader in logistics and digital solutions with over 150 years of history. We are currently seeking a Senior IT Monitoring Engineer to join our global IT team and help maintain the stability and performance of our critical infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and maintain our Checkmk Enterprise environment, ensuring high availability and system performance.
• Develop and maintain custom monitoring checks and agent plugins using Python or Shell scripting to integrate diverse applications.
• Design and manage comprehensive dashboards that provide clear visibility into system health and critical alerts.
• Plan and execute regular Checkmk upgrades, patches, and agent updates while managing incident tickets.
• Act as a mentor for junior team members and contribute to the strategic development of our global monitoring architecture.

Requirements

• Extensive hands-on experience administering Checkmk Enterprise/Professional environments in production.
• Strong Linux administration skills, specifically with RHEL, Rocky Linux, or Debian.
• Expertise in developing monitoring plugins using Python, Shell, and PowerShell.
• Solid understanding of monitoring concepts, including SLAs, performance thresholds, and log analysis.
• Excellent analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and team collaboration.
