Senior II Software Engineer

Akamai Technologies is looking for a Senior II Software Engineer to join our Cloud Networking Products team. You will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing the next generation of our cloud computing infrastructure, specifically focusing on our Cloud Load Balancer to ensure simple, scalable, and accessible services for our global customers.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of the Cloud Load Balancer and other cloud-networking technologies.
• Design, implement, review, document, test, and deploy high-quality code in collaboration with global teams.
• Share technical experience and help establish best practices within the engineering team.
• Leverage LLMs as a core part of your workflow for tasks such as generating boilerplate code and debugging issues.
• Collaborate closely with local and remote peers on various complex technical challenges.

Requirements

• Relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of networking fundamentals including IPv4/6, TCP/UDP, and TLS.
• Proven experience working with Linux-based operating systems.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable software solutions.
• Proficiency in Python and an openness to learn and utilize new languages such as Go or C++.
