Senior IBM i (AS/400) Storage Replication & High Availability Engineer

ITDS is seeking a Senior IBM i (AS/400) Storage Replication & High Availability Engineer to support a leading banking client. You will play a pivotal role in safeguarding core banking systems by implementing advanced storage-based replication solutions to ensure disaster resilience and operational continuity.

Key responsibilities

• Implement storage-based replication solutions between IBM i sites in accordance with design specifications.
• Configure and test SAN and fiber link setups, including synchronization, cutover, and failover procedures.
• Manage the migration from MIMIX replication to ensure data consistency and minimal operational disruption.
• Develop and deploy monitoring and alert systems for the real-time detection of replication issues.
• Create comprehensive runbooks for switchover, failback, and troubleshooting to facilitate operational handover.

Requirements

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in IBM i (AS/400) systems administration and delivery of replication projects.
• Proven hands-on expertise with storage-based replication technologies such as IASP, PowerHA SystemMirror for i, and SAN-level copy solutions.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with logical replication tools like Precisely MIMIX or Maxava.
• Extensive experience in HA/DR design, testing, and failover processes within regulated banking environments.
• Fluent English language skills for effective collaboration with international teams and stakeholders.
