Senior Full-Stack Engineer, Internal Tools

Raya is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to lead the technical direction of our internal tools. In this role, you will own the architecture and engineering standards for the systems our teams rely on daily, balancing hands-on development with technical leadership to drive automation and efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Own the technical direction for internal tools, including front-end architecture and design system strategy.
• Design and build new internal tools and admin features from end-to-end, covering both front-end and back-end systems.
• Apply recommendation, ranking, and search techniques to improve tool functionality in partnership with data science teams.
• Drive down technical debt through targeted refactors and establish high engineering standards via design reviews.
• Mentor engineers through pairing, code reviews, and the creation of technical documentation to ensure team success.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software with a proven track record of shipping scalable systems.
• Extensive proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js, alongside advanced production-grade React skills.
• Strong system design and architecture capabilities with hands-on experience in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch.
• Experience building and scaling backend systems, ideally within a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor and grow other engineers through direct feedback and collaboration.
