Senior FreeCAD Engineer

micro1 is seeking a skilled Senior FreeCAD Engineer to join a dynamic project focused on training next-generation AI systems. In this role, you will leverage your deep domain expertise to create high-quality, real-world CAD inputs that shape how AI models learn and reason.

Key responsibilities

• Create, modify, and validate detailed parametric CAD models in FreeCAD according to specific project requirements.
• Develop and optimize complex mechanical assemblies while ensuring best practices in component integration.
• Apply rigorous Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Generate precise technical drawings and documentation to support engineering reviews and manufacturing processes.
• Conduct thorough engineering QA reviews to identify and resolve issues within CAD models and technical documentation.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, product design, or a related field with a focus on parametric CAD.
• Advanced proficiency in FreeCAD or equivalent parametric CAD software platforms.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T and DFM best practices.
• Proven ability to produce comprehensive technical documentation and verify model integrity.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills suitable for a remote, project-based environment.
