Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

Federato is an AI-native platform transforming the insurance industry by integrating portfolio goals and underwriting workflows into a single, efficient system. We are looking for a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer to help us scale our impact by delivering complex, high-value implementations for our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Drive the planning, scoping, and delivery of complex customer implementations while managing timelines and ensuring launch readiness.
• Serve as a technical escalation point for integration issues, debugging complex problems and designing robust, client-specific solutions.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, translating ambiguous requirements into actionable stories and building strong relationships with stakeholders.
• Influence architectural decisions and product development by providing data-driven feedback based on real-world deployment experiences.
• Write and debug production-grade code in Python, JavaScript, and SQL to support customer implementations and internal tooling.
• Develop best-in-class delivery playbooks and provide technical mentorship to junior team members.

Requirements

• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience with 6-8+ years in software or systems engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Proven ability to debug complex integrations and design custom technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead discovery sessions and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to internal process improvements.
