Senior Engineering Manager

HumanSignal is a human data partner for companies building AI models and products. We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our talented engineering team, ensuring they have the support and guidance needed to grow as professionals while delivering high-quality software.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the team directly through 1:1s, performance feedback, and career development.
• Own delivery processes to ensure predictable shipping of software without becoming a bottleneck.
• Stay hands-on with code and architecture to make informed technical decisions and mentor engineers.
• Balance long-term product development with immediate customer commitments and deadlines.
• Improve team workflows by integrating AI tooling and coding agents effectively.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience managing engineers, including hiring and performance management.
• Strong background as an individual contributor with sound technical judgment and architectural depth.
• Experience shipping software in a startup environment with incomplete information.
• Ability to provide direct, specific feedback and navigate difficult professional conversations.
• Proficiency in using coding agents in real-world development scenarios.
