Senior DevOps Engineer

LocalStack is a fast-growing startup revolutionizing cloud development by providing local sandboxes that simulate cloud environments. We are looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our globally distributed team and take ownership of our internal cloud infrastructure.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and improve our multi-account cloud environment, ensuring high standards of security, governance, and compliance.
• Maintain compliance with SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 standards through continuous monitoring and audit preparation.
• Operate and enhance identity and access management systems, including SSO, MFA, and automated lifecycle processes.
• Maintain and monitor self-hosted internal services to ensure high availability and efficient vulnerability resolution.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize infrastructure reliability, scalability, and cost management.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with AWS at an organizational level, including Control Tower, IAM, and multi-account networking.
• Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, OpenTofu, or Pulumi.
• Proven ability to evolve existing systems to meet SOC 2 or ISO 27001 compliance requirements.
• Experience managing internal workforce identity and access management systems.
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go for automation and tooling.
