Senior Devops Engineer

This opportunity sits at the centre of a large scale technology transformation, with a clear mandate to build and drive a centralised DevOps capability across a complex engineering estate. It’s not about maintaining what’s there today, it’s about defining the standards, tooling and ways of working that multiple teams will adopt going forward.

You’ll be operating as a senior technical lead, working across engineering, platform and infrastructure teams to simplify how things are built, deployed and run. There’s plenty of scope to influence direction, introduce better patterns, and bring consistency to environments that have evolved in silos.

A big part of the role is also driving modern engineering practices. That includes containerisation, Kubernetes adoption, CI/CD maturity, improved observability, and the practical use of AI tooling to remove friction from the delivery lifecycle and improve productivity at scale.

What you’ll be doing day to day is varied. You might be helping one team replatform an application, working with another to improve release pipelines, or defining reusable patterns that can be rolled out more widely. The common theme is raising the bar across the board.

They’re looking for someone who is or has:

• Comfortable leading from the front in a hands on capacity

• Used to working across multiple teams rather than within a single product

• Strong across Kubernetes, automation and modern DevOps tooling

• CI/CD pipelines and tooling (Azure DevOps, Ansible)

• Linux environments, ideally RHEL

• Strong DevOps or platform engineering background in complex environments

• Observability and monitoring (OTel, Grafana, ELK stack)

• Scripting and programming (Python, Bash)

• Able to bring structure and consistency into complex environments

• Interested in how AI can be applied to improve engineering outcomes

• Naturally collaborative, with the credibility to influence different stakeholders
