Senior Design Engineer, Embedded Agreements

PandaDoc is seeking its first Design Engineer to join the Embedded Agreements team, working at the intersection of design and engineering. You will own the end-to-end design of our API and integrations, shaping how our platform connects with the broader ecosystem of tools and AI-native environments.

Key responsibilities

• Own the design of API and integration surfaces, from developer-facing documentation to in-product user flows.
• Partner with product and research teams to define strategy as the market shifts toward AI-native patterns and agentic workflows.
• Prototype concepts in code, taking ideas from Figma or LLM conversations to production-grade React components.
• Trailblaze the Design Engineer function, bringing technical perspective into the design process and mentoring team members.
• Work AI-first using tools like Cursor and Claude Code to deliver high-quality, performant interfaces.

Requirements

• Strong experience in both design and front-end engineering with a portfolio of shipped interfaces.
• Fluency in React, TypeScript, and modern CSS, with comfort working near API surfaces.
• Genuine interest in developer experience and curiosity about how AI assistants are broadening the audience for APIs.
• Active, opinionated use of AI coding tools with a clear point of view on production-quality output.
• Ability to build from zero and set direction in an environment with limited templates.
