Senior Data/PowerBI Engineer with Genie

Entrada AI is a specialized consulting partner and a strategic portfolio company of Databricks Ventures, recognized for excellence in deploying Databricks Genie at enterprise scale. We are looking for a Senior Data/Power BI Engineer to join our team of industry veterans, where you will own the end-to-end development of semantic models and bridge the gap between complex business requirements and high-performance data architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and tune high-scale models (10M–70M rows) to ensure sub-second performance for concurrent power users using Direct Lake optimization.
• Lead the migration of complex legacy reports to Power BI by deconstructing intricate business logic and rebuilding them into modern, streamlined BI assets.
• Develop, test, and deploy production-ready DAX measures and calculated columns while ensuring high accuracy and performance.
• Implement robust Row-Level Security for complex financial access patterns and manage deployments via CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, UX designers, and Databricks engineers to translate requirements into technical BI tasks.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in Data Analytics or BI, with at least 3 years of intensive Power BI development.
• Hands-on experience with the Databricks environment and Genie.
• Expertise in Star Schema implementation and Medallion data architecture.
• Advanced proficiency in writing complex, performance-tuned DAX, including iterators, filters, and time intelligence.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to lead technical discussions and manage stakeholder expectations.
