Senior DataOps Engineer

N-iX is a global software development company connecting over 2,400 tech professionals across 40 countries. We are currently seeking a Senior DataOps Engineer to join our team and support a major telecommunications client in modernizing their data infrastructure through a secure, cloud-native foundation on AWS.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain the AWS Data Platform foundation, including Amazon S3 lake layouts and Apache Iceberg table standardization.
• Build and optimize scalable batch and streaming data pipelines using Amazon EMR, Apache Spark, PySpark, and Apache Flink.
• Implement data tokenization and de-identification pipelines to ensure secure data handling and compliance.
• Manage real-time streaming architectures with Amazon MSK, Kafka Connect, and Schema Registry integration.
• Develop DataOps observability, centralizing logging via Amazon CloudWatch and configuring FinOps cost monitoring.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Engineer or DataOps Engineer building enterprise-grade data platforms.
• Strong expertise with the AWS Data Analytics stack, including S3, Glue, Lake Formation, EMR, and Athena.
• Deep experience with Medallion Lakehouse Architecture and Apache Iceberg table formats.
• Proficiency in Apache Spark, Spark Streaming, and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Solid knowledge of CI/CD automation, Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform/CDK), and data governance tools.
