Senior Data Engineer (Research)

XTB is a global leader in the financial industry and the largest FinTech in Poland, operating across multiple continents. We are currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Science Engineering team and contribute to building scalable data integration mechanisms and robust platform components.

Key responsibilities

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data processing pipelines using SQL, Python, and Apache Spark.
• Developing CI/CD pipelines for data engineering solutions and maintaining Infrastructure as Code.
• Integrating the data platform with various systems and applications to ensure high reliability.
• Participating in architectural decision-making and defining engineering standards within the team.
• Conducting code reviews and sharing technical knowledge to foster team growth.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of professional experience as a Data Engineer or in a related software engineering role.
• Proficiency in Python with a focus on writing clean, testable production code.
• Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization on large datasets.
• Strong understanding of data warehouse design principles, data modeling, and ETL/ELT processes.
• Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Airflow or Dagster.
