Senior Data Engineer

Xebia is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and maintenance of high-scale data platforms. In this role, you will work on complex ingestion pipelines, support data science initiatives, and help establish robust software engineering practices within a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain ingestion pipelines processing billions of events daily while ensuring strict adherence to SLAs.
• Develop and optimize complex data pipelines and frameworks for the data platform.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and resolve platform-level challenges.
• Support data scientists and analysts by managing production workloads and contributing to ML-platform initiatives.
• Establish and promote best practices in software engineering and data development.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in data engineering.
• Proven track record in building, scaling, and operating production-grade data infrastructure.
• Strong programming proficiency in Spark with Scala and Python.
• Hands-on experience with cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with orchestration tools like Airflow and CI/CD workflows using Git and Jenkins.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and excellent problem-solving skills.
