Senior Data Engineer

Craftware is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join the Group Functions Finance domain at Roche. You will serve as the backbone of a data platform, designing, building, and maintaining the pipelines, transformations, and APIs that power critical Finance reporting, analytics, and operational tooling within a modern cloud-first environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest and transform Finance data from multiple source systems into Snowflake.
• Apply Snowflake-native capabilities including dynamic tables, streams, tasks, and materialized views to ensure high performance.
• Model data using dimensional and modern approaches such as Data Vault or medallion architecture.
• Build and maintain data pipelines using orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or dbt.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs to expose Finance data to internal web applications and downstream consumers.
• Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines to ensure version-controlled and deployable code.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2 years working extensively with Snowflake in a production environment.
• Strong hands-on experience with ETL design, data blending, and complex data transformation logic.
• Proficiency in SQL at an advanced level and Python for data engineering tasks.
• Solid understanding of cloud data warehouse concepts, including partitioning, clustering, and cost governance.
• Experience developing and documenting backend REST APIs using FastAPI or equivalent.
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.
