Senior Data Engineer

Sigmoidal is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our team of experts building AI systems for leading US private equity firms and fintechs. You will take end-to-end ownership of data platforms that support the management of over USD 200 billion in assets, ensuring that data serves as a reliable foundation for critical investment decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement robust data models that serve as the foundation for business reporting and decision-making.
• Develop and maintain production-ready ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, SQL, Snowflake, dbt, and Airflow.
• Ensure high standards of data quality, consistency, and performance while managing infrastructure costs.
• Implement data governance practices, including lineage, metadata management, and automated quality checks.
• Manage access control and security for sensitive financial data to ensure compliance and confidentiality.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a proven track record of building cloud-based data pipelines.
• Strong proficiency in data modelling and the ability to justify architectural decisions to senior peers.
• Hands-on experience with dbt and modern data stack tools in a professional team environment.
• A business-oriented mindset focused on delivering measurable value through data solutions.
• Excellent English communication skills for daily collaboration with partners in the US.
