Senior Computer Vision and Deep Learning Engineer

Svitla Systems is seeking a Senior Computer Vision and Deep Learning Engineer to join a team working on advanced mobile computing projects. You will play a key role in developing and optimizing complex OCR pipelines, leveraging your expertise in deep learning and geometric computer vision to solve real-world challenges for our American client.

Key responsibilities

• Own and improve the OCR pipeline end to end, from detection to layout grouping.
• Diagnose failures on real customer images and identify root causes through systematic analysis.
• Develop and optimize text detection, recognition, decoding, and layout components.
• Work extensively with image geometry, feature matching, homographies, and perspective transforms.
• Benchmark changes against tracked baselines and document measurable improvements.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python, NumPy, and OpenCV.
• Hands-on experience training and deploying deep learning models using PyTorch.
• Solid background in scene text and document understanding, including text detection and recognition.
• Practical experience with multi-view geometry, including RANSAC and perspective warping.
• Ability to debug chained coordinate-space transforms and complex polygon geometry.
• Proficiency with Hydra for configuration management and Weights & Biases for experiment tracking.
