Senior Computer Vision & Machine Learning Engineer

illumicell AI is a medical-technology startup developing AI-powered, label-free cell analysis to bring fast, objective diagnostics to the point of care. We are looking for a Senior Computer Vision and Machine Learning Engineer to take technical responsibility for the path from complex imaging challenges to tested, production-quality software for our digital holographic microscope.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, train, and deploy models for sperm detection, multi-object tracking, and motility measurement using PyTorch.
• Design robust evaluation systems with versioned model artifacts and clinically relevant metrics.
• Take technical ownership of computer vision capabilities from problem definition through to deployment.
• Review experiments and code from the ML team, providing technical mentorship and shared ownership.
• Define annotation requirements and work with clinical collaborators to maintain high-quality datasets.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience shipping computer-vision or image-processing systems in production or clinical environments.
• Strong Python skills and hands-on production experience with PyTorch or comparable frameworks.
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including unit testing, version control, and code review.
• Ability to work from incompletely specified goals and determine practical technical steps.
• Clear communication skills in English and a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
