Senior BI Engineer (Tableau Cloud & Power BI)

We are looking for a Senior BI Engineer to own and operate our BI platforms across Power BI (Power Platform), Tableau, and Sigma. In this role, you will support high-quality models, reports, and dashboards while assisting with the migration project from Tableau Server to Tableau Cloud.

Responsibilities

• Administer Power BI Service, Tableau Cloud (plus any legacy Tableau Server), and Sigma
• Manage workspaces/sites, permissions, RLS/OLS, certification, refresh schedules, and data connectivity (Gateways/Bridge)
• Assist with Tableau Server → Tableau Cloud migration: inventory, content clean-up, identity/permissions mapping, Bridge setup, and schedule cutover
• Build and review semantic models, datasets, dataflows, and dashboards; set standards for modeling, performance, and accessibility
• Implement GitHub integration for Power BI (.pbip) and CI/CD (branching/PRs, deployment pipelines, GitHub Actions)
• Monitor capacity, usage, and costs; troubleshoot incidents; publish health, adoption, and admin dashboards
• Partner with Security/IT on governance (sensitivity labels, DLP, auditing) and with analysts on enablement/training
• Help run a COE for Sigma, Tableau, and Power BI, maintaining user engagement and acting as a steward of best practices in development, governance, and security

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in BI engineering with a strong understanding of platform architecture across Tableau Cloud, Power BI, and Sigma
• Expertise in Power BI administration and development, including DAX, Power Query/M, and dataflows, as well as semantic models, deployment pipelines, and XMLA familiarity
• Proficiency in Tableau administration (Cloud/Server, sites/projects, permissions, extracts/schedules) with hands-on dashboard and data-source development
• Direct experience migrating Tableau Server → Tableau Cloud, including Tableau Bridge for on-prem data
• Working knowledge of Sigma and Power Platform basics for BI (Power Automate integrations, environment/DLP awareness)
• Background in GitHub-based SDLC for Power BI: Git integration for .pbip, branching/PRs, versioning, and automated deployments
• Skills in security and governance, including RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels, and auditing, with identity/SSO via Entra ID (Azure AD)
• Capability to script and automate using PowerShell or Python, and leverage Power BI and Tableau REST APIs
• Strong documentation, stakeholder communication, and troubleshooting skills
• Proficiency in English at an Upper-Intermediate level (B2) or higher

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Python
• Knowledge of Sigma BI
• Understanding of Microsoft Entra ID
