Senior Backend Infrastructure Engineer

emagine Polska is seeking a Senior Backend Infrastructure Engineer to join the Fabric squad, a team dedicated to building the foundational infrastructure that enables backend services to communicate securely and reliably. You will play a critical role in evolving our service discovery, traffic routing, and authentication platforms, ensuring our systems can scale to support a global user base.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement changes to the xDS control plane and gRPC integrations to deliver endpoint and routing updates.
• Develop advanced traffic management capabilities, including zone-aware routing, regional failover, and capacity-aware spillover.
• Strengthen metrics, debugging tools, and operational practices for critical production services.
• Plan and execute fleet-wide migrations with clear validation and rollback paths.
• Lead design reviews, contribute architectural proposals, and support teammates in a collaborative remote environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering with strong Java proficiency.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, including service discovery, load balancing, and failure handling.
• Experience operating production services on GCP and Kubernetes, including deployment, observability, and incident response.
• Strong debugging and performance skills, particularly in complex systems with many clients.
• Proven ability to roll out infrastructure changes safely across multiple teams or services.
