Senior Backend Engineer (Python/AWS)

DevsData LLC is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join a dynamic US-based insurtech company. You will contribute to the development of AI-driven software that optimizes critical insurance workflows, including underwriting, claims handling, and pricing, while working on core customer-facing APIs.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build robust external-facing API endpoints to support core customer workflows.
• Integrate the platform with various third-party services and translate complex product requirements into reliable business logic.
• Optimize database and query performance to ensure the platform remains fast and scalable.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data, ML, and DevOps engineers, to deliver high-quality features from concept to production.
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues to maintain platform stability and improve user experience.

Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience with strong Python skills.
• Proven experience building external-facing APIs and working with asynchronous workflows.
• Solid understanding of cloud environments and serverless technologies, specifically AWS.
• Proficiency in working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to take full ownership of projects with minimal oversight.
