Senior Backend Engineer (Poland, Remote)

First Connect Insurance is a digital marketplace transforming how independent insurance agents access top US carriers. We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our team and take ownership of our core backend systems, including vetting and access automation for our flagship Carrier Store.

Key responsibilities

• Drive access automation and SSO solutions to replace manual carrier processes with scalable API integrations.
• Tackle complex architectural challenges, including rebuilding license and access-sharing structures.
• Manage critical funnel paths such as sign-up, onboarding, and producer state automations.
• Balance high-velocity development with system reliability in a dynamic, high-load environment.
• Collaborate with product and technical teams to translate requirements into clean, robust architecture.

Requirements

• 6+ years of commercial experience with Node.js, TypeScript, NestJS, and PostgreSQL.
• Deep understanding of asynchronous system architecture and design patterns.
• Professional maturity with a proven ability to solve complex architectural puzzles.
• Strong startup mindset with a high sense of ownership and ability to prioritize under pressure.
• Fluency in English (C1) and Polish (C2), with flexibility for partial US time zone overlap.
