Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, TypeScript)

Cognizant Technology Solutions is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join a team dedicated to building and enhancing a large-scale digital experience platform. You will play a key role in developing scalable, resilient, and secure backend solutions that serve millions of users worldwide within the retail industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and optimize APIs while managing integrations with various internal and external systems.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including architects and product stakeholders, to deliver high-quality features.
• Participate in code reviews and promote engineering best practices to ensure maintainable and testable code.
• Support CI/CD processes and troubleshoot production issues to drive continuous platform improvements.

Requirements

• Over 7 years of professional experience in backend software engineering.
• Strong hands-on expertise with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Proven experience in designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Solid understanding of software design principles, distributed systems, and cloud platforms, preferably GCP.
• Excellent English communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
