Senior Back-end Software Engineer (with AI experience) – Remote

Covantis is a Swiss start-up revolutionizing the agricultural trade industry through digital innovation. We are looking for a Senior Back-End Software Engineer with AI experience to join our team and help build products that streamline global trade execution and optimize complex supply chain operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and improve features for our product portfolio, starting with our AI-powered document verification tool.
• Collaborate directly with Product Managers and Designers to define business cases and shape technical solutions.
• Build robust web-application back-ends while participating in all phases of the software development life cycle.
• Produce technical documentation, conduct code reviews, and ensure high-quality deployments using CI/CD practices.
• Contribute to technical design discussions and mentor team members on best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 2 years in back-end web development.
• Strong proficiency in a high-level strongly typed programming language.
• Experience with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and monitoring/observability tools.
• Advanced skills in the use of AI coding agents.
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Experience shipping LLM features into production is highly desirable.
