Senior Back-end Engineer (NodeJS)

SwingDev is a fast-growing InsurTech company and the Polish branch of Hippo Insurance, dedicated to making home insurance smarter and more proactive through innovative technology. We are looking for a Senior Back-end Engineer to join our team of passionate professionals who value trust, empathy, and a collaborative culture.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement backends and their interactions with various data stores and APIs.
• Support reliable databases and APIs for real-time automated decision-making.
• Deploy software using industry-standard tooling like Kubernetes clusters and Lambda functions.
• Investigate and resolve production issues by analyzing code, data, and system behavior.
• Implement robust automated test suites to ensure high quality and low failure rates.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Node.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
• Practical knowledge of at least one relational database system such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Adeptness with microservices and system design patterns.
• Strong sense of ownership and the ability to convey ideas clearly across teams.
• Experience implementing the test pyramid and utilizing good security practices.
