Senior Azure Data Engineer

Inuits is seeking a highly experienced Senior Azure Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of a medallion lakehouse architecture for a multitenant SaaS platform. This strategic role focuses on architectural guidance and leveraging AI-driven development tools to build robust data solutions, rather than traditional hands-on coding.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and implementing bronze, silver, and gold data layers using medallion architecture on Azure.
• Guiding critical stack and architecture decisions for a platform where the technical approach is currently being finalized.
• Tuning SQL Server performance and providing expert architectural support to engineering teams.
• Formulating structured requests to LLMs to integrate schemas for AI-driven reporting and validating the accuracy of AI-generated outputs.
• Utilizing advanced AI tools to drive implementation and project delivery.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience in designing medallion lakehouse architectures on Azure, with broad exposure to platforms like Fabric, Synapse, or Databricks.
• Deep expertise in SQL Server tuning and architectural design.
• Proven ability to operate as a technical advisor and architect, focusing on high-level strategy over manual coding.
• Demonstrated experience using AI tools in engineering workflows with a critical understanding of their capabilities and limitations.
• Practical experience integrating LLMs with structured data schemas and identifying potential hallucinations.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
