Senior Applied AI Engineer

Flyps is a high-tech software house with nearly a decade of experience turning complex technical challenges into production-ready products. We are looking for a Senior Applied AI Engineer to join our team and build robust, production-grade AI systems while providing technical leadership to our engineering group.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop LLM-powered systems, taking them from initial prototypes to reliable production environments.
• Diagnose and improve AI performance by analyzing code, data, logs, and execution traces.
• Build comprehensive evaluations and regression tests to measure quality, latency, and cost.
• Set technical direction, review architectural solutions, and mentor other engineers.
• Evaluate new models and tools to validate their practical value before implementation.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering background with proven experience in building production applications.
• Hands-on experience with LLM-powered systems, including tool calling, structured outputs, and multi-step workflows.
• Proficiency in RAG, vector search, or agent-based architectures.
• Experience building backend services and APIs, preferably with FastAPI, alongside automated testing and code review practices.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex decisions effectively.
