Senior Android Developer (freelance)

intent is an AI-native, fully remote team that has been designing and co-creating connected devices since 2008. We are looking for a Senior Android Developer to join us on a freelance basis to work on innovative hardware projects, including wearables and health-tech solutions for global clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain Android applications that communicate with hardware peripherals via BLE.
• Write performant, reusable, and reliable Kotlin code while maintaining a TDD mindset.
• Participate in the specification, planning, and estimation of new features and modules.
• Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback to teammates.
• Utilize AI tools as part of your daily workflow to enhance productivity and problem-solving.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in Android development.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin and hands-on experience with BLE integration.
• Proven experience with Jetpack Compose in production environments.
• Familiarity with modern Android libraries such as Koin or Hilt.
• Strong communication skills in English (B2+ level) to collaborate with international clients.
• A proactive mindset with a focus on ownership and high coding standards.
