Senior Accountant

Spotter Labs is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant with robust US GAAP and controllership experience to anchor our accounting function during a pivotal period of growth. You will serve as a technical expert, providing deep accounting judgment and rigorous control structures to ensure absolute technical accuracy and audit readiness while partnering with leadership on strategic financial oversight.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee fixed asset accounting, refine capitalization policies, and ensure the fixed asset register is flawlessly maintained.
• Act as a critical second line of defense by reviewing complex transactions and making definitive accounting treatment decisions.
• Strengthen accrual methodologies, enforce cut-off procedures, and reduce manual adjustments during the month-end close.
• Establish elevated reconciliation standards and design stronger review controls across all key accounts.
• Partner in software migration projects by documenting processes, identifying control gaps, and redesigning workflows.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and proven experience with QuickBooks Online.
• Deep, hands-on expertise in US GAAP and complex capitalization policies.
• Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and apply high-level accounting judgment.
• Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of educating staff and presenting findings to auditors and leadership.
