Semantic Data Engineer

Data Engineer 

Location: Remote (100%)

We are looking for a Data Engineer to support the integration of laboratory instrument data using industry standards developed by the Allotrope Foundation. You will help build scalable data solutions that enable seamless access to analysis-ready data, supporting pharmaceutical research and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for laboratory data integration

• Design and optimize SQL queries and data processing workflows

• Work with NoSQL databases and data models

• Develop solutions in Python

• Support cloud and DevSecOps initiatives, including CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code

• Contribute to data standards and schema development

Requirements

• Strong experience in Data Engineering (SQL, ETL development)

• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases

• Proficiency in Python

• Experience with DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD, Git, Docker, and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)

• Professional proficiency in English

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of semantic web technologies (RDF, SPARQL)

• Experience with AWS services (Lambda, Glue, Step Functions)

• Familiarity with Jira and Confluence

• Strong communication and collaboration skills
