Security Architect II (night shifts)

Akamai Technologies is seeking a dedicated Security Architect II to join our world-class Security Operations Command Center. In this role, you will be at the forefront of defending global online businesses by managing security products, mitigating DDoS attacks, and ensuring the stability of our platform during high-traffic events.

Key responsibilities

• Engage in advanced mitigation techniques to prevent and neutralize vector attacks in real time.
• Analyze customer traffic, applications, and systems to tailor security solutions to specific needs.
• Manage and document technical issues, responses, and requests to maintain accurate records.
• Provide expert support to customers to resolve complex network and connectivity challenges.
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding security incidents and provide updates on mitigation progress.

Requirements

• Strong experience with core Internet technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP, TLS, and web servers.
• Proven experience in a customer-facing role with a solid understanding of the consulting process.
• Ability to work night shifts, specifically 4 nights per week for 10 hours each.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain complex technical content in English.
• Proactive mindset, sense of urgency, and a constant desire to learn and grow within the security field.
