SAS Application Engineer in Finance & Accounting Platforms

The Financial Data Application team at Baloise Solution Hub is seeking an experienced SAS Developer to maintain and evolve critical finance and accounting platforms. You will play a key role in managing group-wide data hubs and calculation engines, ensuring the stability and future development of services that support complex financial operations.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain, operate, and further develop the BAT posting engine and the RIVA9 IFRS 9 calculation engine using SAS 9.4.
• Design and build new interfaces between SAS and SAP systems.
• Improve system performance and parallelize processing to handle increasing data volumes.
• Act as a bridge between business analysts and technical implementation teams in an agile environment.
• Take end-to-end ownership of business-critical services to ensure continuous operational excellence.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of professional experience in SAS implementation, preferably within financial or accounting platforms.
• Expertise in SAS 9.4, including SAS Foundation, Macro Language, DI Studio, and Enterprise Guide.
• Solid experience with SQL and databases such as DB2 or Oracle.
• Proficiency in working with web services, XML, JSON, and REST/SOAP structures.
• Practical knowledge of Python and Databricks, combined with a strong analytical mindset.
