Spyrosoft is seeking an experienced ROS Engineer to join a challenging project focused on migrating an autonomous vehicle platform from ROS 1 to ROS 2. You will work on an existing production robotics system, analyzing complex architectures and ensuring a smooth transition to a modern, maintainable ROS 2 environment while preserving critical system behaviors.
Key responsibilities
- Support the migration of autonomous vehicle software from ROS 1 to ROS 2.
- Analyze, refactor, and migrate existing C++ and Python components.
- Migrate navigation, localization, autonomy, and vehicle control functionalities.
- Configure DDS/QoS communication to resolve performance and reliability issues.
- Perform integration, regression, simulation, and vehicle-level testing.
Requirements
- Commercial experience working with both ROS 1 and ROS 2.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and Python programming.
- Solid experience with Linux development environments.
- Proven background in autonomous vehicles, robotics platforms, or UGV systems.
- Experience with navigation, localization, and system integration.
