Researcher - DeepRAP Challenge

VendueTech is seeking a dedicated Researcher to join the DeepRAP Challenge, an initiative focused on advancing trustworthy cognitive AI. This role involves contributing to the development of systems that move beyond current deep learning paradigms, specifically targeting causal reasoning, abstraction, and planning under uncertainty.

Key responsibilities

• Co-develop the scientific narrative and technical approach for a comprehensive Pathfinder proposal.
• Provide academic rigor regarding reasoning, abstraction, and planning methodology, including related work and evaluation design.
• Collaborate directly with the founding team throughout the proposal development and submission process.
• Contribute to building and demonstrating working systems that help define new industry benchmarks for AI trustworthiness.

Requirements

• Research background in neuro-symbolic AI, causal inference, cognitive architectures, or deep reinforcement learning and planning.
• Proven track record with publications at top-tier conferences such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or AAAI.
• PhD in progress or completed, ideally affiliated with a top research institution within the EU or associated countries.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative startup environment rather than a traditional academic pace.
