Railway Cable Routing and Ducting Designer

Sweco Design Center Poland is an internal design hub within the Sweco Group, providing expert engineering and design services for international infrastructure projects. We are currently seeking a skilled Railway Cable Routing and Ducting Designer to join our team and contribute to complex railway developments across Scandinavia.

Key responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive railway design work, including alignment, railway yards, and longitudinal sections.
• Design railway groundwork and earthworks, focusing on 3D modelling, terrain modelling, and quantity calculations for excavation and fill.
• Develop and manage ducting and cable routing designs, ensuring technical accuracy in all project documentation.
• Prepare technical drawings, design reports, and project descriptions while coordinating with other engineering disciplines.
• Collaborate with technical leads and junior designers to solve complex technical challenges and ensure high-quality project delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Railway Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in railway, light rail, or tramway planning and design.
• Proven expertise in ducting, cable routing, and 2D/3D design software including Bentley OpenRail, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.
• Strong proficiency in terrain modelling, earthworks, and quantity calculations.
• Very good command of written and spoken English to facilitate international collaboration.
