R Developer / Bioinformatic

Avenga is looking for an experienced R Developer and Bioinformatician to join a project focused on creating advanced web applications for the statistical analysis of preclinical studies. You will be responsible for modeling longitudinal data, developing analytical libraries, and building robust visualization tools to support complex research processes.

Key responsibilities

• Development and maintenance of multiple R/Shiny applications and supporting R packages.
• Building and maintaining REST and GraphQL APIs to facilitate data integration.
• Creating and customizing data visualizations using ggplot2 and related libraries.
• Managing data operations within NoSQL databases, including document updates and retrieval.
• Implementing unit and integration tests to ensure high code quality and system reliability.
• Utilizing CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions for automated deployment processes.

Requirements

• Proven professional experience in R programming, including package development and Shiny application design.
• Strong proficiency in data visualization tools such as ggplot2 and plotly.
• Solid understanding of Unix environments, bash command line, and Git version control.
• Good grasp of biological concepts, experimental methods, and experience with Bioconductor libraries.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English at a B2 level or higher.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools for processing genomic data like NGS, RNA-Seq, or WGS.
