QA Lead

Baselane is a rapidly growing banking and financial management platform dedicated to empowering individual landlords and real estate investors. We are seeking a hands-on QA Lead to join our team in an AI-first engineering environment, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping our quality strategy and driving automation excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Build automation hands-on by writing, reviewing, and maintaining Playwright tests for critical user flows, APIs, and regression suites.
• Coach and mentor our manual QA team, upskilling members into automation and setting clear expectations for quality ownership.
• Own the automation framework architecture, ensuring it remains fast, reliable, and accessible for both QA and engineering teams.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and leverage AI coding agents to accelerate test creation and maintenance.
• Define quality standards, acceptance criteria, and release readiness metrics while protecting sensitive banking and money-movement flows.

Requirements

• 7+ years in software quality, with at least 2 years of experience leading teams while remaining hands-on.
• Strong proficiency in building test automation frameworks using Playwright, TypeScript, or JavaScript.
• Proven experience testing web applications and APIs, including GraphQL and REST endpoints.
• Demonstrated success in coaching manual testers and integrating automated testing into CI/CD workflows.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents to maintain tests and experience testing AI/LLM-powered features.
