QA Engineer

Abstra is seeking a technically proficient Quality Assurance Engineer to help establish a modern, automation-first approach to product quality. You will partner with Product, UX, Engineering, and DevOps teams to define test strategies, build automated test coverage, and ensure the delivery of high-quality software in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automated test suites for user interfaces, APIs, and critical workflows using modern frameworks.
• Review product requirements, UX designs, and technical specifications to identify edge cases and potential risks early in the development lifecycle.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and define quality gates to support reliable release decisions.
• Perform exploratory testing on complex, data-driven workflows and validate behavior across various configurations and permissions.
• Collaborate with engineers to improve testability, investigate root causes of defects, and advocate for shared ownership of quality.

Requirements

• 4+ years of professional experience in software quality engineering or test automation for modern SaaS web applications.
• Strong hands-on experience with browser automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Proficiency in writing maintainable test automation code using TypeScript, JavaScript, Python, or a similar language.
• Solid understanding of REST API testing, including HTTP, JSON, authentication, and API contracts.
• Ability to write SQL queries and validate application data within relational databases.
• Experience working in Agile environments with a focus on risk-based testing and exploratory methodologies.
