QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript)

Andersen is hiring a QA Automation Engineer (JavaScript) for a project ensuring API quality, test automation, and reliable integration testing for a software quality platform. 

The customer is a technology-driven software quality services provider that helps organizations improve the reliability, usability, and performance of their digital products. It combines quality engineering expertise, flexible delivery models, and technology-enabled services to support web, mobile, and other digital solutions across multiple industries. The company helps businesses accelerate software delivery, improve product quality, and enhance end-user experience through scalable testing and quality assurance services. 

The project is focused on expanding a software quality platform with Public API capabilities while ensuring reliability and quality through end-to-end integration testing and API contract testing. It includes validating third-party integrations, implementing CI quality gates, and supporting secure, scalable API delivery. 

Responsibilities: 

• Building end-to-end tests for the full integration lifecycle, including triggers, data streams, mapping, and synchronization. 

• Developing automated tests for real third-party sandbox and staging integrations. 

• Covering concurrent integrations, race conditions, throughput benchmarks, and expanding test coverage across services. 

• Standardizing the API testing framework, including authentication, environment configuration, schema validation, and unified reporting. 

• Migrating legacy Apiary specifications to OpenAPI 3.1 and creating API specifications for uncovered services. 

• Developing API conformance tests covering schema validation, positive and negative scenarios, error handling, and authorization. 

• Implementing backward compatibility checks and integrating API contract validation into GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines. 

• Rolling out the testing framework across services and supporting continuous improvements to API quality. 

Must-haves: 

• Experience in test automation with strong proficiency in TypeScript for 3+ years. 

• Hands-on experience with Playwright for end-to-end and API test automation. 

• Hands-on experience with API and contract testing based on OpenAPI specifications. 

• Experience authoring OpenAPI specifications from scratch, not only validating existing contracts. 

• Experience with mocking frameworks such as nock or equivalent, and testing against real third-party sandbox environments. 

• Experience implementing CI quality gates using GitHub Actions. 

• Hands-on experience testing AWS serverless applications, including Lambda, DynamoDB Streams, and SQS. 

• Level of English – from Upper-Intermediate and above. 

Nice-to-haves: 

• Experience with both Mocha and Jest testing frameworks. 

• Experience migrating Apiary specifications to OpenAPI. 

• Experience with TestRail. 

• Experience testing concurrency, race conditions, and system throughput. 

• Experience working in shared staging environments with limited resources and deployment constraints.
