Canonical is a leading provider of open source software and the publisher of Ubuntu, the platform widely used in AI, IoT, and cloud initiatives. We are seeking a Project Manager for our Devices business to oversee the coordination and delivery of complex customer-facing projects involving Ubuntu images on diverse hardware, from robots and IoT devices to automotive systems.
Key responsibilities
- Manage projects through their complete life cycle, ensuring goals are met within time, resource, and scope expectations.
- Act as the primary delivery liaison between engineering teams and customers, managing technical issues to reach desired outcomes.
- Draft and maintain project schedules, statements of work, and risk mitigation plans.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and internal stakeholders across different time zones.
- Advocate for appropriate technologies from the Canonical product portfolio to meet customer needs.
Requirements
- Solid project management experience in delivering engineering services and managing software development teams.
- Extensive experience managing cross-cultural and multi-continent projects with internal and external resources.
- Strong knowledge of Linux, the Open Source Software community, and computer architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work non-standard hours to support a global team and willingness to travel for internal events.
