Program Underwriter Transportation

Signers National is a prominent insurance platform providing comprehensive brokerage and underwriting services. As part of the Convelo Insurance Group, they are currently seeking a dedicated Program Underwriter to focus on the transportation sector, specifically within the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation and Ambulance markets.

Key responsibilities

• Evaluate new business submissions to ensure they align with NEMT and Ambulance risk appetite.
• Negotiate new business quotes and renewals with insurance carrier partners to successfully bind coverage.
• Collaborate with agents to drive multi-line sales, including workers compensation, general liability, and professional liability coverages.
• Maintain detailed underwriting files and prepare necessary reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of commercial auto underwriting experience, with a strong preference for transportation industry expertise.
• Comprehensive knowledge of commercial auto insurance, including rating, forms, and coverage structures.
• Proven ability to make timely, informed decisions and build strong professional relationships with agents and insureds.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral communication, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Experience utilizing Insurance Agency Management Systems such as IMS.
