Product Designer – Internal Tools

SwingDev, a Hippo company, is looking for a Mid Product Designer to join our team and take ownership of Hippo's internal tools. You will be the solo designer working on complex, high-impact products ranging from claims platforms to underwriting AI, directly influencing the operational efficiency of our teams.

Key responsibilities

• Design intuitive and accessible internal tools, including dashboards, tables, and multi-step workflows.
• Partner with PMs and engineers to define problems, explore solutions, and ship features that move real operational metrics.
• Conduct user interviews, shadow sessions, and feedback loops to understand the needs of internal users.
• Sketch, wireframe, and prototype at the appropriate fidelity using Figma and LLM-assisted workflows.
• Facilitate alignment between product, design, and engineering teams through open communication and design crits.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience shipping production work with a portfolio demonstrating your process and impact.
• Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, variables, and auto-layout.
• Experience designing data-dense, workflow-heavy interfaces and power-user tools.
• Ability to work independently while utilizing support from senior design staff.
• Fluent English and availability for afternoon collaboration 2-3 days a week to align with US time zones.
