Principal Python Engineer

Intellias is looking for a Principal Python Engineer to join a healthcare technology initiative focused on building a modern, scalable platform for connected health data. You will work within the Platform Architecture team to solve complex challenges related to scalability, reliability, and interoperability in a cloud-native environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design and build large-scale distributed systems and event-driven architectures using Kafka.
• Define and govern REST and federated GraphQL APIs to support product development.
• Contribute directly to production code, prototypes, and reference implementations.
• Collaborate with AI engineering teams to integrate LLM and agent-based solutions into production systems.
• Drive architectural reviews and establish engineering standards across multiple teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong hands-on backend development in Python.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native architecture, and AWS.
• Experience with Kubernetes, containerized environments, and high-volume data systems.
• Strong knowledge of authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence technical decisions.
