Principal Product Security Engineer

Tellent is looking for a Principal Product Security Engineer to shape how we design, build, and ship secure software. In this hands-on role, you will work directly within the engineering team to identify vulnerabilities, implement secure-by-default patterns, and establish a robust product security roadmap.

Key responsibilities

• Perform deep manual security reviews and offensive testing across services, APIs, and client applications.
• Threat model high-risk product surfaces, including new AI functionality, and mentor teams on security practices.
• Own the technical strategy for application security tooling and triage vulnerabilities from internal and external sources.
• Develop secure development standards and build systemic fixes that prevent recurring security issues.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to integrate security into the design phase and support product security incidents.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on application or product security experience, ideally bridging engineering and security roles.
• Strong understanding of access control, authentication, authorization, and common web vulnerabilities.
• Proven ability to threat model real systems and translate findings into practical engineering solutions.
• Comfortable reading and writing production code with a technology-agnostic mindset.
• Excellent communication skills with a collaborative, low-ego approach to building security culture.
