Principal Go Engineer

TeamQuest is seeking a Principal Go Engineer to join our team and take full ownership of the architecture, performance, and development of a high-availability distributed data and analytics platform. You will work on complex systems that process massive volumes of network data, ensuring scalability and reliability in a fully remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Designing and implementing scalable Go backend services and high-performance data pipelines.
• Developing event-driven architectures using Kafka and defining robust data flows.
• Making critical architectural decisions regarding system consistency, scalability, and disaster recovery.
• Optimizing Go applications at the CPU, memory, and concurrency levels for maximum efficiency.
• Leading cross-team technical initiatives, mentoring engineers, and raising standards in code quality and observability.

Requirements

• Over 10 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years specifically in Go.
• Proven track record in a Tech Lead, Staff, or Principal Engineer capacity.
• Deep expertise in microservices, REST, and distributed system patterns.
• Strong proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and advanced PostgreSQL.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience with observability tools.
• Fluent English communication skills.
