Principal DevOps Engineer

CommIT is seeking a Principal DevOps Engineer to design and build the AWS infrastructure and delivery platform for a new, high-scale gaming platform. As a hands-on technical leader, you will define the cloud foundation from scratch, ensuring the system can handle massive sportsbook traffic while meeting strict regulatory and uptime requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Design a multi-account AWS foundation, including networking, IAM strategy, and cost governance.
• Build and operate a resilient Amazon EKS container platform optimized for high-throughput, spiky traffic.
• Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform and establish GitOps delivery pipelines.
• Develop a comprehensive observability stack and drive an SLO-based reliability practice.
• Mentor engineering teams on cloud-native best practices and set organization-wide operational standards.

Requirements

• Over 10 years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure engineering, with at least 3 years at a principal level.
• Expert-level hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, networking, and multi-account architectures.
• Deep proficiency in infrastructure as code (Terraform) and Kubernetes day-2 operations.
• Proven track record of building developer platforms that prioritize efficiency and reliability.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or Bash, with the ability to communicate complex technical decisions clearly.
